Yesterday, the wife and I were hauling a trailer in the city, and needed to stop and get food. So, parking is a little tricky with a trailer, so we decieded to park across the street from a sandwich shop, in the parking lot of a big box store. Since that end of the lot was completely empty, I pulling into the aisle and turned, slowly, into a parking space. Pulling forward as to occupy two spaced, or one, and and the one in front of it.

While we were parking, a gentleman was driving his car across the empty parking lot. Across.
This isnt too out of the ordinary, as the lot was empty, except for us. As he drove directly toward us, he seemed perturbed that we were parking, and that we were in his way.

Just simply strange that he was in the right…. crossing the parking lot and was upset that we were parking.

I just dont understand.

Getting Gas

With gas being over $1 more per gallon than this time last year, I seem to pay more attention to people when I am filling up my truck. Although I am lucky enough to not to have to travel much, I guess that makes me pay more attention when I do.

So this time I was to fill up my tank at my “favorite” station, I noticed that the gas was 6 cents cheaper than it was directly across the street. My choice is clear, buy gas from the cheaper supplier.? Right.

The catch is, people were lined up 7 or eight deep waiting here to get gas. No lines at the competitor.
My truck has a 15 gallon tank, which if completely empty, would make the price difference of about 90 cents if I bought the cheaper gas. But of course I would have to wait in line maybe 15 minutes for this (as everyone else was doing). And because it was near 90 degrees outside, most of them kept their vehicles running for the AC.

In my mind, that 15 min of waiting, and running my truck far under weighed the almost 90 cents that I would be paying for convenience and getting out of the way of the herd.

Im just saying.

Living in the “country”, we still have barbers. You know, the place where MEN go and get their hair buzzed. They dont sell “products”, or have Hot Stone Treatments, or even plush couches for relaxing. You are there for a reason, to get a haircut, so there is a barber chair, and if your lucky, enough steel frame chairs to sit on.

So, I was in dire need of a haircut and there I was, walking into my barber’s shop only to see that one family of a father, 2 sons, and mother were waiting in “line”. The only problem was that each of them had one chair between them, and one on each side at the ends, so those 4 people “took” all 9 seats.

I stood for a while.

Ignorance Prevails

It is still amazing to me that people think that their opinion, based on their very limited experience, should count as fact, and should be distributed to the masses. This post was initiated by a fellow climber that assumes that he is correct with his opinion, without taking into account many variables that should change his descision. Why do people not do their research? Why do people not ask people questions? I am under the impression that by asking those types of questions, it is showing ignorance, which is seen as bad. Im just saying.

People on elevators

I know of many strangle observations occur in elevators, but a first
for happens this morning.

I was going to checkout of the hotel, so I had two large bags and
pushed the down button for the elevator.

The elevator made a ding and opened the door. A young lady with her
own luggage must have thought that she was on the lobby floor and took
a couple steps toward the door. She realized that I was getting on
the elevator and that she was not on the lobby floor and remained
exactly in the middle of the elevator.

It was quite obvious that I needed a little room to get into the
elevator, yet she remained exactly in the middle.

Now this was no small elevator, but for some reason, she had no
intention to move further into the room to allow me to enter, so we
danced a little as I had to squeeze by her with my luggage, raking the
wall and the buttons.

I was wanting to say something witty, like they don’t make elevators
as big as they use to, but we were at the lobby before I could think
of anything better than that.
